San Miguel

Today we visited San Miguel on our day of rest. We ate at Mama Mias for lunch and most had pizza! We shopped at the market, specialty stores and Starbucks and made it back to camp in time for dinner at 6:30.

Final VBS

The last day of VBS. The kids constructed crosses made of foam and decorated them with the message ‘God loves you.’ Lucas presented the gospel using balloons after we all sang ‘Every move you make’ in Spanish with the kids.
It was sad to say goodbye, but a great close to the end of the work week. Tomorrow is our day of rest and we will travel to San Miguel. Breakfast is at 8:30 instead of 7am. :)

Work begins again on Wednesday morning with more painting!

The guys start filling in the trench around the foundation of the bathrooms. Jordan and Dan from Buffalo Free Church and TJ from CenterPoint.

We had a great day at VBS on Wednesday! We had a little over 30 kids show up and we let them decorate photo frames with their picture. It was a hit! The kids returned to the camp at 7 for a movie, and the students sat amongst them and interacted.

The rain stopped on Tuesday and the sun came out! We were able to do VBS! 30 kids came from the village and we here from 2-4:30. We did crafts, and games and made new friends. This is Jim Matthews from Buffalo free with his new amigo.

Workday 2

Tuesday morning construction begins after devotions at 8am. Lucas swings a pick as part of the team begins removing a metal tube fence in the way of construction of the new bathrooms.

Molli and the team from Buffalo Free Church begin painting the floor of the room whose walls they painted yesterday. When finished, the floor painting group will move to another room today.

Work and touch-up continues on the outside wall of the camp.

Work continues and final touch-up on the last bedroom. Floor to be painted next.

Levi is praying for the team during construction. We have a prayer spot / chair where each team member prays for the work for 15 minutes then finds the next team member on the list, and prayer resumes.

Monday Night

Our VBS was rained out! After some team prayer time and discussion, we decided to rearrange the week schedule and go into downtown Guanajuato for the evening instead of on Wednesday night.

We had dinner at a Mexican chain called VIPS (veeps) and explored the market and exchanged money. We returned to camp and had a devotional and prayed for the morning, the weather and the hope of doing VBS tomorrow.

Workday 1

After a good rest the team is having breakfast, dressed in work clothes and ready for devotions! We meet at 8am for construction.

The rain has filled the trenches for the footers of the new bathrooms. Their is a possibility if getting a sump pump, but there will be no concrete mixing and pouring today.
